“Men’s Health has awarded the Outback Steakhouse with the Worst Food in America, for its ‘Aussie Cheese Fries with Ranch Dressing.'”
Joking aside, these actually look really good.
Here are the AMAZING nutritional facts:
182 g fat
240 g carbs
“Even if you split this ‘starter’ with three friends, you’ll have downed a dinner’s worth of calories before your entree arrives. Follow this up with a steak, sides, and a dessert and you could easity break the 3,500 calorie barrier.”
Just to give you some perspective, a supersized McDonald’s “Double Quarter Pounder with cheese Extra Value” meal (incl. Coke) has:
72 g fat
196 g carbs
In case you can’t quite grasp what this means: 2 Supersized Double Quarter Pounder with cheese meals < 1 order of cheese fries at Outback. (I did that right. Right, guys?)
That’s crazy. Also, I wonder who was thinking to themselves, while coming up with this dish, “You know what this needs? RANCH DRESSING.” I know dipping sauce is essential for french fries, but maybe come up with a fancy ketchup or something. Not a side sauce comprised of buttermilk and cream. I actually have no idea what’s in ranch dressing, but it seems like those ingredients are somehow involved. Buttermilk, cream, and LARD.
Anyway, I hope this article doesn’t put a damper on your day. I know many of you are probably big on fries topped with cheese and bacon with ranch dressing…from Outback. But if it makes you feel any better, now you know, on a strictly caloric level, that McDonald’s isn’t as bad as Outback.
Happy cheese fries eating, everyone!
